Sunlight Mountain Blessing

Hi everyone! I am grateful to be here on this special day to celebrate and bless the new Primo lift.

Before I do that, I’d like to offer a land acknowledgment…

This land used to belong to the Native American Tribe, the Ute people. “We remember and honor indigenous people of the world, especially the Ute’s whose land we now occupy. This region was once their home and it was taken from them. We give thanks for them and express our gratitude for their witness on how to live a life that is honorable and humble. May we always remember that the Earth does not belong to us; we belong to the earth, and that we are all relatives in this life. Help us to learn from our past mistakes and be instruments of justice and peace…”

And now the blessing…

Holy God, Creator, our Higher Power… You go by many names. We ask for your blessing this day on the new Primo lift. May it provide as many years of enjoyment as the old lift did, and keep everyone safe. Bless this community, all the people who make the resort run, as well as the guests. Thank you for giving us the gift of skiing and riding. It is good for a physical, mental, and spiritual health and brings so much joy! We thank you for the beauty of your creation that surrounds us. We thank you for the blessing of snow and may it continue in abundance. May we take it all in, and enjoy this special day!
